Church Briefs

Sandcreek Baptist Church

This week I’m just sending reminders of our many, upcoming dates to remember.

Of course the Faith Singers are still working on their upcoming cantata at 9 a.m. Saturday, and the youth are working on their Easter program during their Sunday evening meetings at 6 p.m.

This is the last Sunday to submit your design for the church T-shirt. Is it possible that this next Sunday is Palm Sunday? Where does the time go? That means that next Sunday, April 20, is Easter. If you remember from last week, our Easter Sunday is going to be full if you plan to attend all of the services and I hope you do.

Maybe you can work in a nap in the afternoon while the kids/grandchildren hunt Easter eggs.

That reminds me, the youth will be hosting our Easter egg hunt at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19. The children of the church and their friends and guests are welcome. You might even find an egg with more than candy inside. If you plan to attend, bring your basket to hold the eggs you find.

The youth will meet Friday evening to “stuff” those eggs while enjoying fellowship over pizza. Young people, they can use your help.

Maundy Thursday will include a service at 6 p.m. to be followed by a “sedar” meal and communion. I hope you signed up last week so the cooks will know how much to prepare.

Remember the Community Good Friday services to be held at St. Mary’s. Then we come to Easter Sunday. It will start with sunrise services at 7:30 a.m. to be followed by breakfast at 8 a.m. There is a sign up sheet for breakfast donations.

Following breakfast, at 9 a.m., the youth will present their program and music. That will be followed by the Faith Singers presenting the cantata, “Amazing Grace.” Our traditional worship service will be at the regular time of 10 a.m. and it will include communion.
