Decatur County Primary winners

Greensburg — Of Decatur County's 15,181 registered voters 4,487 (29.56 percent) cast a ballot in Tuesday's Primary election.

Here's a quick look at those races specific to Decatur County.

Republican Timothy B. Day ran unopposed for Judge of the Circuit Court and received 3,243 votes.

Democrat Robert D. Wickens ran unopposed for Judge of the Circuit Court and received 411 votes.

Republican Tami D. Wenning ran unopposed for her party's nomination for the office of Decatur County Auditor and received 3,518 votes.

Mary C. Vail is the Republican nominee for Decatur County Treasurer. She ran unopposed and received 3,330 votes.

Andrew P. Scholle is the Republican nominee for Decatur County Surveyor. He ran unopposed and received 3,236 votes.

John H. Richards is the Republican nominee for Decatur County Commissioner District 3. He ran unopposed and received 3,235 votes.

Rick Nobbe is the Democrat nominee for Decatur County Commissioner District 1. He also ran unopposed and garnered a total of 417 votes.

James J. Koors is the Democrat nominee for Decatur County Commissioner District 3. He ran unopposed and received 398 votes.

There were three Republicans running for three nominations to the Decatur County Council.

Bill W. Metz was the top vote-getter of the three with 2,675 votes (35.36 percent). Ernest J. Gauck finished second in the vote total with 2,554 (33.76 percent). Geneva E. Hunt received 2,336 votes (30.88 percent).

Likewise, there were three Democrats running for three nominations to the Decatur County Council.

Rick Kramer finished first of the three with 334 votes (34.50 percent). Just three votes behind was Kenneth Stagge, who received 331 votes (34.19 percent). Michael S. McCoy received 303 votes (31.30 percent).

Also of special interest to many Decatur County voters is the Indiana State Representative District 67 seat.

Republican Randy Frye ran unopposed and won his party's nomination with 881 votes; Democrat Tom Cheek, running unopposed, won his party's nomination with 111 votes.

District 67 includes areas outside Decatur County and vote totals for the entire district were not available at press time.
