GJHS sets athletic activities

Preseason activities for three different sports at Greensburg Junior High School have been announced.

Volleyball tryouts for GJHS are Wednesday, July 31 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., and Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tryouts require a physical and all sports forms signed.

Cross country’s first official practice for GJHS will be Aug. 1 from 3 to 5 p.m. A physical and sports forms need to be signed to practice.

South football, cheer clinics set

The South Decatur High School coaching staff will be hosting a youth football clinic on July 29, 30 and 31.

The clinic will last from 10 a.m. to 11:30 at the high school, free of charge, for all kids in kindergarten through sixth grade.

South also will be accepting Cougar Youth Football Registrations at this time.

For any questions regarding youth camp, contact Rodney Martin at 343-0685.

Cougar Youth Football will host a youth cheerleading clinic on those same days for all girls, in grades kindergarten through sixth, interested in being a cheerleader this fall. The cheerleading clinic will last from 6 to 7 p.m. Girls can also register at this time. The cost is $25.

Girls golf practices start Monday

Mandatory Greensburg girls golf practices will start Monday, July 29 and will be at the Greensburg Country Club at 10 a.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 3:45 p.m. of the first week.

Thereafter, practices will be after school at 3:45 p.m.

South JH practice starts Monday

The South Decatur junior high football practice starts Monday, July 29 at 3:30 p.m. Players must have a physical to practice.
