$1M gift to expand Purdue lab
Purdue University says a $1 million gift will allow it to expand the Maurice J. Zucrow Laboratories. The donation, led by engineering alumnus Stanley Tebbe will support a facility for gas turbine combustion research.
Building permits tick upward
The Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis says new, single-family building permits were up slightly in May, compared to the same month the previous year. The nine-county organization reports more than one-third of the total permits were issued for construction in Hamilton County.
Lost contract leads to reductions
A defense industry support company is warning it could part with nearly five dozen Indiana employees. In a notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, URS Corp. in Odon cites a lost contract for the expected reductions.

West Lafayette-based Schoolhouse Partners LLC has released its 23rd Directory of Grants in the Humanities. It includes over 5,500 funding opportunities from sources including foundations, family trusts and government agencies.
Comm. foundation director retiring
Community Foundation of Morgan County Executive Director Tom Zoss says he will retire this fall. The organization hopes to have a replacement chosen by September.
