Decatur County Events Calendar

Local clubs, service groups, fraternal organizations and others are encouraged to send their Coming Events information to the Daily News at news@greensburgdailynews.com or Daily News, PO Box 106, Greensburg, IN 47240.

All July – International Crafts and Artifacts exhibit at the Decatur County Historical Society (222 N. Franklin Street.) The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Friday. Items from 20 countries will be available for view.

July 3

All Day – Make and Take Crafts in children’s room at Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library while supplies last.

4:30 p.m. – St. John’s Lutheran Church of Napoleon will hold its monthly ‘Coffee Social.’ The menu includes ham, German hot potato salad, homemade coffee cakes, etc. Everyone is welcome, and carry outs are available. There is a per person charge. For more information, call Jim Kunz: 663-3839.

Dusk – Decatur County Independence Day fireworks celebration. Concessions to be sold by 7 p.m.

July 4

Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library closed.

Decatur County Historical Society selling homemade ice cream at the museum on Franklin Street.

10 a.m. – Tri Kappa annual 4th of July Parade, starting on Franklin Street. Participants should line up at 9:15 at their designated spots.

July 5

1 p.m. – The Decatur County Historical Museum hosting a presentation by Phillip Jackson Jr. about John T. Wilder. Following the presentation, attendees will get to see a John T. Wilder water turbine, thought to be the only remaining Wilder turbine still in existence.

8 a.m. – Coffee and donuts in Lake Santee Community Room.

Dusk – Lake Santee Independence Day fireworks celebration.

July 9

7 to 9 p.m. - End of Summer Reading Pool Party at Allen Memorial Pool.

July 10

All Day – Make and Take Crafts in children’s room at Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library while supplies last.

6 p.m. – Early bird book sale for members of Friends of the Library at Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library.
