Hickory Creek Not-For-Profit Nursing Home welcomed Rohnda McCrory as the new Director of Nursing April 8.
“My passion has always been to give good care to my residents,” McCrory said, “I want to be there for them ... They deserve the care a family can give them.”
McCrory has a long history as a nurse. She began working as a nurse in 1990, and worked at Heritage House from 1993 until 2000, and also worked at Morning Breeze in 2006 as an MDS coordinator in care planning.
She left Morning Breeze in 2010 to become a registered nurse, and went on to work in Hickory Creek in Madison before requesting a transfer.
In 1984, McCrory said, she worked in a hospital as an aid and was nearly convinced to become a hospital nurse. Helping people transition from home to their “last stop,” McCrory said, was her true calling.
“This is their last home on earth and they deserve to be as comfortable as possible,” McCrory said, “If they need prayer time, I will pray with them. These people have contributed to the community.”
McCrory’s position as Director of Nursing had been her aspiration, and she hopes any changes she makes are for the betterment of Hickory Creek.
She also encouraged anyone who wants to meet her to stop by her office, especially the residents.
