Independent feature film to be shot in Greensburg

GREENSBURG – Forever Safe Productions, an independent film production company located in Chicago, has announced it will begin production on a movie that will be shot in Greensburg from Aug. 9 to 13.

Filming for “Dearest Jane,” a family-friendly film described in a press release as a “dramatic romance film,” will take place in a variety of locations around Greensburg, from private residences to the historical downtown area. Extras will be needed, and interested individuals may apply at dearestjaneextras@gmail.com by providing their name and age range.

Dearest Jane stars Sydney Pierick and Scott Myers, along with a handful of actors who are members of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). The film is written by John Lerchen who will also direct. Lerchen has lived in the Hoosier State for nearly two decades.

The movie will be shot by A.J. Young, who was featured earlier this year at the Academy Awards. A film crew totaling about 20 individuals will be working on the film in Greensburg.

The entirety of Dearest Jane will be shot in Indiana, a press release pertaining to the film states. The movie is about a troubled girl who must overcome her fear of change, love and acceptance when she is sent to live with her uncle in the isolated countryside. The film is very family friendly.

The movie is a unique opportunity for everyone involved, and it is the goal of the filmmakers to have it premiere at the SXSW film festival in 2014. Fans can help the film by “liking” the Dearest Jane Facebook page at www.facebook.com/dearest.jane.movie. The film crew will also be posting daily during principal photography with updates from the set. Requests for assistance will also be posted on the film’s Facebook page.

The Daily News will have more information on this story as it becomes available.
