NORTH VERNON — The Indiana Department of Transportation will shift traffic Monday as a second State Road 3 construction project gets underway at North Vernon.
The state is widening S.R. 3 from JFK Drive to CR 300 North (at the bypass) to accommodate a center lane for left turns at the JFK intersection.
To make way for construction activities on the east side of SR 3, traffic will be routed to the west side of the roadway. Flaggers will be present Monday morning to direct motorists through the area while this lane switch occurs. The traffic pattern is expected to continue through mid-June.
Wide loads will be restricted to 11 feet.
Dave O’Mara is the state’s contractor for this $333,671 added travel lane project.
