Primary election held today

Today is primary election day. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The primary election allows the electorate to choose which candidates within a political party will vie for public office in the general election, in the fall, against candidates from other parties.

Outside of township races, only one race is contested: Two Republicans are vying to become the GOP nominee for County Commissioner District 2.

Decatur County has 15,808 registered voters, including 423 voters who registered for the first time this year.
