Greensburg Schools announce registration dates

GREENSBURG – Greensburg Community Schools return to session Aug. 1.

According information provided to the Daily News by the school corporation, registration for grades Kindergarten through 12 will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., July 18, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 19, at Greensburg Community High School (GCHS).

The Corporation has also released textbook fees for the 2013-2014 school year. The fees, which are due when registering, are as follows: Kindergarten, $56; First Grade, $57; Second Grade, $95; Third Grade, $57; Fourth Grade, $46; Fifth Grade, $43; Grades Six, Seven and Eight, $135.

The Corporation has also released its meal-rate schedule for 2013-2014, as well as hours for the school day. Student breakfast will cost $1.20, while adults will pay $1.60. Lunch will be $2.10 per student, with adults paying $3.10. Milk will cost $.40. School hours at Greensburg Elementary School for 2013-2014 will be from 8:20 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. Hours at Greensburg Jr. High School will be from 7:50 a.m. to 3 p.m., while hours at GCHS will be from 7:55 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Decatur County Memorial Hospital, working in conjunction with the Department of Health, will hold a Shot Clinic for students who need additional vaccinations to meet state vaccination requirements for students. The clinic, which will administer state-required vaccinations ONLY, will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., July 18, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., July 19, at the Decatur County Department of Health, located at 801 North Lincoln Street.

The Shot Clinic is open to students who are insured, uninsured or on Medicaid. Parents are reminded to bring insurance information and all relevant vaccination records for their children.
