Three face charges related to burglary

GREENSBURG – The Greensburg Police Department (GPD) has cracked the case of a robbery earlier this month at the home of Heartland Cloggers choreographer Lois Bridges.

The Cloggers are a local dance troupe specializing in charity performances at venues all around Decatur County, including the 4-H Fair, nursing homes and assisted living centers.

According to a police report filed in Decatur County Superior Court, Jeremy D. Rathburn, 27, Jessica Lyn Lovins, 24 and Bret Jason Satterthwaite, 32, all face charges related to the robbery, which occurred earlier this month.

According to the report, police recently received information linking Rathburn to the burglary, and subsequently called him, requesting he come in for an interview; Rathburn agreed to do so.

During the interview, Rathburn stated that he’s acquainted with Satterthwaite from work and allegedly admitted to participating in the robbery, telling GPD Detective William Meyerrose that he was intoxicated at the time of the burglary.

Rathburn allegedly further admitted to stealing “dj equipment from the residence,” including a Peavey amplifier that’s since been recovered at a pawn shop in Indianapolis.

Other items taken in the break-in include the contents of a toolbox, several music CDs and a pair of Gemini audio systems worth roughly $300 each.

Rathburn also allegedly admitted to stealing two tires, which he kept.

Rathburn told police that Satterthwaite and Lovins took possession of the stolen property, with the intent of selling it and then sharing the proceeds with Rathburn. He also admitted to possessing marijuana at his home.

Based on the interview, police executed a search warrant on Rathburn’s residence at 825 East Central Street. The interview and the search were sufficient to charge Rathburn with burglary (Class C Felony) and possession of marijuana with a prior conviction thereof (Class D Felony).

Lovins faces a count of receiving stolen property (Class D Felony) and a misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia, while Satterthwaite is charged with burglary (Class C Felony) and possession of paraphernalia.

All three suspects are currently incarcerated at the Decatur County Jail, Rathburn on a $10,005 cash bond, Satterthwaite on a $25,005 commercial bond and Lovins on a $755 cash bond.
