Beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7 the Greensburg-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce will be welcoming U.S. Department of Agriculture executive director, Julia Wickard, to speak during this year’s agriculture dinner.
The dinner will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall on 1308 W. Main Street, and costs $10 per person for dinner and to listen to Wickard, the keynote speaker.
Wickard will be presenting the 2013 state of agriculture, according to executive director of the Greensburg-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, Jeff Emsweller. Wickard will also speak about projections for 2013 — what farmers can affect with their farming, and also what they can expect.
“It’s just going to be a great evening as we try to keep agriculture at the forefront; especially since our county is laden with agriculture,” said Emsweller.
The doors will open at 6 p.m., dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., and Wickard will begin speaking at 7:15 p.m. Dinner, said Emsweller, will be pork chops, scalloped potatoes, green beans, lemonade or tea.
