Red shirts for Honda
Pick out your best red shirt and join the Greensburg/Decatur County Chamber of Commerce on the courthouse lawn, Thursday, Sept. 12 at 5:30 p.m. as they retake the Honda ‘H’ photo that was originally created in 2006.
This photo will commemorate Honda’s fifth anniversary of producing vehicles at the Greensburg plant. Please bring a friend.
Auditions on the way for Tree County Players production
Tree County Players will perform Dashing Through the Snow Nov. 21, 22 and 23.
Auditions will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Sept. 9, 10 and 11 at the Tree County Players building, 327 South Monfort Street, Greensburg.
There are 12 female and five male roles, ranging in age from 18 to over 70. The show has several smaller roles and some roles may be doubled. The production is not a musical, and a few scripted lines will be provided to be read.
Appointments may be made to ensure a particular audition time, but walk-ins are welcome. Several parts have only short lines to be memorized.

Museum showcasing county’s agricultural history
The Decatur County Historical Society Museum is now hosting an exhibit looking at Decatur County’s deep agricultural history featuring photos, stories and artifacts from family farms.

Lake Santee Regional Waste and Water District meeting rescheduled
The Lake Santee Regional Waste and Water District meeting scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19, at 3:30 p.m. has been rescheduled.
The meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 24, and will be followed at 6 p.m. with a board training for small utilities seminar to be presented by Alliance of Indiana Rural Water.

Fall Festival parade entries now being accepted
Entries are now being accepted for the 2013 Herb Kohler Memorial Parade powered by Honda. Part of the Tree City Fall Festival, the parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28.
Members of the 2013 Greensburg Community High School Class 3A State Championship team will be the grand marshals and will lead the procession down Broadway Street.
“We invite everyone to honor their favorite Hometown Heroes in their entries,” said Lana Martin, parade chairperson. “It could be a super volunteer or use your imagination.”
