Lady Charger netters top Franklin County

The North Decatur varsity volleyball team defeated Franklin County in five sets after falling to Rushville in five sets.

North hosted Jac-Cen-Del Tuesday and won in three sets, 25-10, 25-22, 25-21. The Lady Chargers improve to 2-3 on the season.

“We played more consistent and stayed aggressive throughout the game,” said head coach Cathy Fogle. “We had a few errors on serve receive, but we didn’t let it get to us and stopped the serve and got the ball back.”

Performers for the night were:

Baili Ewing served 5-7 and 5 digs.

Erin Yager 13 digs.

Kaitlin Herbert hit 5-6 with 3 kills and 2 assist blocks.

Erin Hoeing served 14-15 with 2 aces, hit 13-17 with 5 kills and 14 digs.

Mary Hughes served 12-13, set 32-32 with 13 assists and 4 digs.

Anna Schwartz hit 6-8 with 1 kill and 1 assist block.

Laura Haunert served 12-12 with 1 ace set 47-47 with 11 assists and 3 digs.

Anna Schwering hit 16-20 with 8 kills, 2 assist blocks and 1 dig.

Allie Louder hit 7-7 with 1 kill

Anna Wallpe served 18-18 with 1 ace, hit 14-15 with 9 kills, 4 assist blocks, 1 block and 2 digs.

Alison Wallpe served 9-9 with 2 aces, hit 14-18 with 3 kills 1 assist block, 2 blocks and 1 dig.

“Overall, we played well tonight,” said Fogle.

North Decatur volleyball played at Rushville on Aug. 26 and lost in five, scores were 8-25, 25-14, 25-27, 25-15 and 10-15.

Performance for the night as follows:

Baili Ewing: served 18-19 with 2 aces, hit 3-6 with 1 kill, and 8 digs.

Erin Yager: received 18-20 and 10 digs.

Kaitlin Herbert: hit 7-13 with 2 kills, 1 dig and 1 block.

Erin Hoeing: served 20-20 with 3 aces, hit 16-24 with 12 kills, 1 assist block and 5 digs.

Mary Hughes: served 11-11, set 34-36 with 7 assists, hit 8-8 with 3 kills and 3 digs.

Laura Haunert: served 12-13 with 1 ace, set 31-31 with 3 assists and 6 digs.

Anna Schwering: hit 9-11 with 4 kills and 1 dig.

Allie Louder 1 kill.

Anna Wallpe served 12-12, hit 15-16 with 5 kills and 4 blocks.

Alison Wallpe: served 15-17 with 4 aces, hit 13-16 with 4 kills, 4 blocks and 2 assist blocks and 6 digs.

North played at Franklin County on Aug. 29 and won in five, 23-25, 25-21, 18-25, 27-25 and 15-10.
