Pirate linksters active on home course

The Greensburg girls golf team lost a home match to Rushville 187-197 Tuesday night. Catie Liggett shot a 38 to take meet medalist honors. Britney Biltz led the Pirates with a 42. Payten Ewing followed with a 48, Tori Giddings 51, Nicole Ploeger and Bri Stagee 56 and Kaitlyn Wickens 58.

The Lady Pirate golfers hosted a tough Connersville squad last Thursday, losing 174-199.

Lindsey Hackleman was meet medalist with a 38. Greensburg’s Britney Biltz shot a 40 and hung in with the Trojans’ regional qualifier.

“One hole with a penalty shot and Britney was right there. Still a good round though,” commented coach Terry Alverson. “We have to get some other players under the 50 mark to be competitive or it will be a short season for us this year.” Rounding out the scoring for the Pirates were, Payten Ewing 50, Tori Giddings 54, Bri Stagge 55, Brittany Lozier 56, Nicole Ploeger 59.

Also scoring for the Pirates were Cheyenne Dunn 61, Autumn Moster 63, Kaitlyn Wickens, Alli Duerstock and Kelly Meyer 66.
