---- — INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Blood Center welcomed 3,712 individuals in the last four days after the non-profit announced it was in critical need of all blood types.
Indiana Blood Center has notified the Indiana State Department of Health that blood supplies are once again stable.
“This week’s shortage has demonstrated how necessary it is that Indiana Blood Center sees 550 donors each and every day,” shared Shannon Jordan, director of marketing. “We appreciate the thousands of Hoosiers who came out this week to ensure Indiana hospitals have the blood components needed to treat their patients.”
After coming out of a critical blood shortage, it is imperative that blood collections remain strong for the next 7 to 10 days in order to maintain these normal inventory levels.
Donors of all types continue to be needed.
