Pirate boys tennis gains EIAC win

---- — The Greensburg boys varsity tennis squad recorded a conference win Wednesday, 5-0 against South Dearborn.

The Pirates improve to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference.

At first singles, senior Collin Rigney (8-0) defeated Jeff Wohlfrom 6-2, 6-0. At second singles, senior Riley Burkert (7-1) beat Luke Armbruster 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore David Lawrence (5-3) at third singles topped Adam Dreihaus 6-0, 6-1.

The first doubles team of seniors Tom Lawrence (7-1) and Kyle Colson (7-1) dispatched Ryan Howell and Kenton Ballart 6-1, 6-0. At second doubles, which finished up first, junior Kevin Beaver (6-2) and sophomore Keegan McCullough (6-2) beat Blake Dreihaus and Kyle McGaha 6-0, 6-0.

In junior varsity action, Greg Schroeder won a pair of matches at singles. Nathan Emsweller and Nick Hughes also won in singles action. Zach Willette and Alex Hughes won 8-3 in doubles.
