---- — The North Decatur girls golf team competed against Franklin County Monday night for a dual meet. North fell to the Lady Wildcats 196-203 on the Front Nine at Brook Hill.

According to first-year North head coach Angie Gauck-Belter, 203 marks a season low.

“We will continue to work on lowering that as the season progresses,” she said.

Gauck-Belter, a two-time IHSAA state champion at North, commented on the Lady Chargers’ performances.

“The girls played well on an unfamiliar course,” she noted. “The dry conditions helped and hurt some, but all-in-all I was very happy with the effort put forth by the girls last night.”

Nicole Scott and Emily Martin each turned in a 50 to lead the Lady Chargers. Hannah Andrews followed with a 51, while JoBeth Martin carded a 52.

Other North scores: Ashley Crain 59, Kerigan Wessler 59, Keelyn Ingmire 61, Alison Byrd 65, Krista Woodhull 69.

North is set to take on Greensburg and South Decatur golfers Thursday night at the Greensburg Country Club at 4 p.m.
