GJHS volleyball wins first matches

The Greensburg junior high eighth grade volleyball team won its first two matches of the season.

The eighth grade Lady Pirates defeated Batesville in the season opener, 25-8, 25-8.

Sierra Johnson added two blocks while Ashlynn Meyer had one.

Ashlynn Meyer was 19/20 sets with three assists.

GJHS volleyball defeated Jennings County 25-21, 25-15 Thursday.

“The first set, we came out slow, but were able to fight through to get the win,” said coach McFall. “In the second set, one player went down and the girls had to play with five girls on the court. I was extremely proud of the way the girls handled themselves. They played so well as a team despite missing one girl on the court.”

Ashlynn Meyer was 35/36 on setting with three assists.
