Community Open House for New Patient Unit at DCMH this Sunday

GREENSBURG – The latest addition to Decatur County Memorial Hospital is finally complete and DCMH is ready to show it off.

Construction that broke ground in August 2012 has now come to a close and your Hospital is happy to announce that the new medical/surgical unit will be open September 10th for patient care!

The public is invited to join in the celebration from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 1, as DCMH will host a Community Open House.

Come get a sneak peak at our latest expansion project. The open house is open to all and will include guided tours of each room and snacks as we celebrate the opening of the new unit.

The third floor addition consists of large, all-private patient rooms, which ensures both patient and visitor comfort. For added convenience, all rooms have full, private bathrooms and are furnished to allow patient families to stay with loved-ones during their hospital stay.

Along with patient rooms, this floor is also home to an accommodating bariatric room with specialized patient equipment, as well as our new Advanced Care Unit (ACU), featuring glass panel doors to enable ease of observation from the nurses’ station located just across the hall.

Furthermore, the open-concept floor plan ensures that no patient feels isolated or forgotten during their time at DCMH. A family waiting area also guarantees more comfortable visits when hospital staff are treating the patient; the main nurses’ station is centrally located, enabling staff to help visitors easily find their loved one’s room and answer any questions.
