Nov. 20

6 p.m. - Decatur County Redevelopment Commission will meet in room 130 of the Decatur County courthouse.

Nov. 21

6 p.m. - Turkey Bingo and Raffle at Greensburg’s Knights of Columbus Hall. Doors open at 4 p.m.

7 p.m. - Tree County Players will present Dashing Through the Snow at the Greensburg City Hall auditorium.

Nov. 22

2 p.m. - Fall classic movie for adults at library. Movie is “You Can’t Take it With You” and includes popcorn and drinks.

5 p.m. - Greensburg’s Knights of Columbus will host a soup cook-off. Bring your favorite, or come taste ours. Event is a free will offering.

7 p.m. - Tree County Players will present Dashing Through the Snow at the Greensburg City Hall auditorium.

Nov. 23

10 a.m. - 36th annual Tree City Run. Race day registration and packet pickup begins at 8:30 a.m. The race begins and ends at the Decatur County Family YMCA.

4:30 to 7:30 p.m. - St. Maurice Church annual turkey and sauerbraten dinner. Event is a free will offering and includes a cake walk.

5 p.m. - International Suicide Survivors Day will be recognized at Greensburg City Hall.

7 p.m. - Tree County Players will present Dashing Through the Snow at the Greensburg City Hall auditorium.

8 p.m. to midnight - Annual Harvest Moon Dance in St. John’s Hall at Enochsburg. The Nuthin’ Fancy Band will provide music from 8 p.m. to midnight. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person. Nov. 24

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. - Milan Christmas Craft Fair at Milan High School, 609 Warpath Drive. No charge. There will be over 200 exhibitors, featuring Christmas decorations and handcrafted gifts.

1:30 to 3:30 p.m. - Decatur County Christians will pack meals at Greensburg Community Junior High for Kids Against Hunger.

7 p.m. - Board of Aviation Commissioners meets at City Hall.

Thanksgiving Day

Noon - Annual community Thanksgiving Day dinner at Greensburg United Methodist Church. Church is located at the corner of North and Broadway. Home delivery and carry-outs available upon request. Information at 663-5683.

Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library will be closed in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Dec. 2

5 p.m. - Greensburg Board of Works meets at City Hall.

7 p.m. - Greensburg City Council meets at City Hall.

Dec. 4

4 to 6 p.m. - Kids’ Closet of Decatur County will be open at Greensburg City Hall. This will be the last chance to receive winter clothing. Free clothing, both new and gently used, will be given to children from kindergarten through sixth grade. The only requirement is that children be accompanied by an adult.

Dec. 5

6:30 p.m. - Daughters of Isabella will meet at Greensburg’s Knights of Columbus for its Christmas party. Please bring canned food and paper products for the needy baskets. Decatur County Memorial Hospital needs rattles and toys for babies and small children. Meal will be catered.

6 to 9 p.m. - Annual Holiday Walk on the courthouse square. Parade with Santa at 6 p.m. Photos with Santa available after the parade.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - WTRE Holiday Bazaar at Greensburg Elementary School.

The St. Paul Senior Luncheon Site offers Exercise with Mozart at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. on a donation basis for those 60 years and older.

The Historical Society of Decatur County museum is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Admission to the museum is free and special tours can be scheduled by calling the office at 663-2764.

Join us for hot, well-balanced, nutritional meals at the Greensburg Adult Center at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. If you are over 60 years old, cost is based on donations. Under 60 years of age is $4 per meal. Call 663-2232 for lunch reservations. Fun and friendship are shared daily.

Decatur County Human Services, Inc. administers the Child Care Voucher Program for Decatur County. This program provides services through licensed providers for parents seeking quality child care. Currently there is a very small waiting list. To apply for this program come to Human Services with your most recent pay stub or current school schedule. You will be asked to fill out an application and provide some general information. Our child care providers are licensed through the SIEOC. Anyone wanting to become a licensed provider may also contact Human Services at 1939 N. Carver Street Greensburg or call (812)663-8830.

If your child enjoys listening to stories, singing, dancing and making crafts, you should stop by the Children’s Room at the Greensburg Library to sign up for Story Time. It is open to children ages 3 to 6 years of age. Classes are available Monday and Thursday evenings and Tuesday and Wednesday mornings. You may call the library at 663-4455 for more information and to get registered.

Nutritional meals are served everyday at 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday at the St. Paul Civic Center, 120 E. Washington St., St. Paul. If you are 60 years of age or older, join us for fun and fellowship. You may contact Trudy Lewis at 765-525-6306. The Civic Center is open from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Family Food Pantry is accepting donations Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can help by calling 812-663-8830 or stopping by at 1939 North Carver Street, Greensburg.

All Hillenbrand doll plant retirees and spouses are invited to the Osgood Grub Company for lunch on the first Monday of every odd-numbered month. Meet, greet and eat at 11:30. All-you-can-eat buffet provided for $10.62, which includes tip.
