United Methodist serves nearly 400 on Thanksgiving

Greensburg Daily News

---- — GREENSBURG – More than 380 meals were delivered or served to persons that otherwise would not have had a traditional holiday meal Thursday at Greensburg United Methodist Church.

Local residents Debbie Sellers and Melissa Fischer continued the tradition of preparing the meal that was started more than 20 years ago by their parents, David and Carolyn Bean. Although the event was held at the Greensburg United Methodist Church and supported by members of the congregation, there were many from the community that helped with food preparation, packing meals and delivery of meals.

The church gives a big thanks to all that volunteered. Many persons said they would like to return next year as today was more than just feeding people. The fellowship and warm smiles were more than enough to fill the hearts of those in need as well as those who gave their time to help those less fortunate Thanksgiving Day.
