JENNINGS COUNTY – A North Vernon man died of injuries suffered in a Thursday evening crash, the Indiana State Police reported.
According to a news release, the accident occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. Thursday night when a 2001 Chevrolet truck driven by Devin R. Fear, 18, Scipio, struck at 2003 Chevrolet passenger car driven by Michael Taylor, 21, head-on on State Road 7, approximately three miles north of North Vernon.
The accident took place when Fear’s truck crossed the centerline for unknown reasons, colliding with the front of Taylor’s vehicle.
Both drivers were transported from the scene by ambulance to Jennings County Hospital. Taylor was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville, Ky., where he died Friday morning.
Police report that Fear suffered multiple fractures and bruises in the crash.
Indiana State Police Trooper Matt Holley is in charge of the crash investigation which is ongoing.
