A job fair is planned for next month in Kokomo. The event will feature employers in manufacturing, education and banking.

WorkOne Plans Vet Hiring Event

WorkOne is set to host a hiring event for veterans and their spouses Wednesday in South Bend. The organization says 1st Source Corp. (Nasdaq: SRCE) is looking to fill positions in areas ranging from accounting to information technology.

USI Partnering With Connecticut Co.

A Connecticut-based financial software company has announced a gift of nearly $1 million in cash and in-kind donations to the University of Southern Indiana’s Romain College of Business. The school says SS&C Technologies’ donation will provide students participating in its investment accounting programs with “world-class opportunities.”

University to Offer Loan Help

The University of Evansville has announced plans to launch a program to reimburse some student loan payments. The school says the Loan Repayment Assistance Program will issue a quarterly check to eligible graduates until they find full-time employment paying at least $37,000 per year or their loans are paid off.

Committee Clears Hemp Bill

The Senate Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee has approved a proposal involving hemp. The bill would set up guidelines for the state to license the production and cultivation of hemp for industrial purposes. The crop can be used in fuel, textiles and plastics.
