An Indianapolis couple suspected of robbing the Greensburg Old National Bank Branch March 29 have been formally charged.
Greensburg Police Detective William Meyerrose told the Daily News late Monday afternoon that Chancley Podniestrzanski, 30, has been formally charged in Decatur County Superior Court with Robbery as a Class C Felony and Theft as a Class D Felony. His alleged accomplice in the March 29 robbery, Danielle Baker, 21, has been charged with Aiding a Robbery as a Class C Felony.
Meyerrose recently took statements from both suspects. The GPD detective cautioned that getting the pair into a Decatur County courtroom would likely prove a long process.
The pair currently faces charges or are suspected in several other bank robberies throughout Indiana and Kentucky. They’re also under suspicion and facing charges in a number of Central-Indiana home burglaries and break-ins.
As such, they have a number of days in court ahead in both Indianapolis and Louisville and elsewhere. According to Meyerrose, many of those other cases will likely keep the pair busy for a long while before they’re extradited to stand trial in Greensburg.
