Church Briefs

(Continued)

A reminder for the youth that they are now meeting at 6 p.m. Sundays.

Set aside this time to fellowship with other youth and hear a Christian message that will help you through the next week.

Bring a friend or two and introduce them to God.

Remember to keep our youth and their adult leaders in prayer as they take part in and enjoy their weekend retreat.

On Saturday, Sept. 7, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church, Pastor Harold will host a “roast” of Al Doles in “honor” of his 90th birthday. Start now to get your stories ready.

After the “roast,” refreshments will be served.

We’ve had another enjoyable week of nice temperatures and wonderful weather. Better enjoy those flowers and veggies in the garden because the day is coming when they’ll be just a memory. If you look closely, you can see trees that are beginning to shed their leaves and some even turning color. Are we in for an early fall? Only God knows what is ahead for us. Maybe you should check in with Him once in a while. Like at least on Sunday morning in fellowship with other Christians in need of His and your fellowship.

We’ll be looking for you this Sunday. No need to make a reservation. Plenty of free seating up front.

First Christian Church

First Christian Church welcomes you Sunday to our worship services at 8 a.m. (traditional) and 10:30 a.m. (contemporary). The church is located at 425 North Broadway, Greensburg. Sunday school classes begin at 9:30 a.m.

We are excited about our church-wide campaign, “This is Church,” coming in September. This is an eight-week journey to discover God’s design for the church. We’ll start with a tailgate party Sept. 8 from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Small groups and our Wednesday programming, Elev8, will kick off the week of Sept. 8 to 14. We’ll conclude our journey with a service Sunday, Oct. 20, a week of service in the community leading up to Trunk-or-Treat Oct. 26, and a celebration of our journey Oct. 27. For more information, or to get involved in the campaign, call the church office at 663-8488.
