Maurice C. Kidd, 87, of Rushville, passed away Aug. 31, 2013

Born June 30, 1926 in Lincoln County, Ky., a son of the late Odie C. and Georgianna (Harris) Kidd. He married Lydia E. Moore Nov. 7, 1946, and after 60 years of marriage, she died Dec. 16, 2006.

Maurice was an Army veteran serving in the 706th Infantry in the European theater. He retired after 19 years from the former KT Corporation. He also farmed. He was a Kentucky Wildcat and NASCAR fan and a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, John (Sandy) Kidd of St. Paul and David of Rushville; four daughters Annie Browder, Ellen (Danny) Reed, Connie Kidd and Mary (Troy) Dickson all of Rushville; one brother Leonard (Loretta) KIdd of LaMesa, Calif.; one sister Connie Baugh of Perryville, Ky.; 13 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, four step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Timothy; one grandchild, Danielle Reed; brothers Wade and Taylor and sisters Lillian Bishop and Flossie Hale.

A Celebration of Life with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville, Pastor Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Decatur County’s Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Todd Funeral Centre and Crematory. Memorials may be made to the family c/o the funeral home.
