The Greensburg golf team traveled to North Vernon Thursday night for a match against Jennings County at Ford’s Crossing. Jennings Country beat the Lady Pirates 187-196.
Greensburg sophomore Britney Biltz won medalist honors with a 43.
“I thought Britney did a great job playing a course that is not in the best condition,” commented Greensburg coach Terry Alverson.
Another bright spot for the Pirates is Payten Ewing who shot a 46.
“Payten works hard on her game and continues to improve as the season progresses,” said Alverson. “I need some other players to lower their scores for us to be competitive in the conference tournament and the sectional. I have a couple of players that are close and hopefully our end-of-season runs will continue this year.”
Senior Tori Giddings broke below 50 by carding a 49.
“Tori Giddings seems to be getting better as the season progresses,” said Alverson.
Other scores for the team were: Bri Stagge 58, Brittany Lozier 59, Nicole Ploeger 60, and Kaitlyn Wickens 61.
