The North Decatur volleyball team stretched its winning streak to nine games Saturday with three victories in the Eastern Hancock Tournament.
The Lady Chargers are now 11-5 after clinching the Eastern Hancock tourney title. They won the varsity tourney with wins over Anderson Prep, Frankton and Indian Creek. North beat Anderson Prep 25-5, 25-11, then beat Frankton 25-12, 25-18. The Lady Chargers topped Indian Creek 25-15, 25-20.
North then played the No. 1 team from pool B, Hagerstown. North won in two sets 25-11 and 25-16.
Head coach Cathy Fogle applauded her squad for displaying team play.
“The ladies played together as a team and worked hard,” she said. “Each member stepped up and did their part for the team to get the wins for the tourney title.”
Senior Erin Hoeing led North in hitting on 51-for-54 with 21 kills and a team-high 32 digs. Senior Anna Wallpe led her team in hitting with 55-for-56 attacking and 19 kills.
Sophomore Mary Hughes set a team-best 103-for-104 with 28 assists. Junior Laura Haunert set 69-for-69 with 22 assists.
Hughes served a team-best 50-for-50 with eight aces.

Allie Louder hit 10-10 with 3 kills, 2 assist blocks and 4 digs.
Anna Wallpe served 24-24 with 6 aces, hit 55-56 with 19 kills, 9 solo blocks, 5 assist blocks and 5 digs.
Alison Wallpe served 11-13 with 1 ace, hit 30-31 with 14 kills, 3 solo blocks and 5 assist blocks.
