---- — The Greensburg cross country program hosted the Greensburg Invitational Thursday afternoon, including 11 male teams and nine female teams. Both North and South Decatur competed in the meet.

Highlighting the meet was North Decatur sophomore Megan Hoover’s school record performance. She broke her own record by clocking a second-place time of 19:27.44, which head coach Scott Johnson confirmed.

“Really proud of my Charger runners this evening,” said Johnson, “and especially Megan Hoover - who eclipsed her own school record by 12 seconds! With both teams placing eighth out of 12 teams, many of them larger than us, I am very pleased. We had six runners get PR’s for the year, which was great. Fall Break starts...so the change of pace will be nice. We have both county and conference during Fall Break, but I think the free time will help us both mentally and physically. We are looking forward to the challenge.”

Greensburg’s girls took fourth place, while North took eighth. South brought four female runners to the meet. Oldenburg Academy won the girls’ run, while Jennings County won the boys’ run.

Greensburg’s boys placed sixth overall, North Decatur took eighth, and South Decatur was 11th.

Oldenburg Academy senior Sarah Billingsley won the girls’ race with a time of 18:59.19, while OA won the team title with 33 points.
