Amanda Clair (Kile) Shank, 50 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on May 8, 2008 at her residence.
She was born on July 4, 1957 in Madison, Indiana.
She attended the former Brookville High School, graduating with the class of 1975. In addition, she earned both her Bachelor and Masters degrees from Indiana State University. She was a former member of the Brookville United Methodist Church.
She will be missed by her faithful husband, David Shank of Indianapolis; mother, Betty Jean (Weisner) Kile of Brookville; brother, Joe (Vicki) Kile of Brookville; nieces, Cassie Gartenman and Hallie Kile; nephew, Dan Gartenman; sister-in-law, Reva Grantham of Versailles, Kentucky and her mother-in-law, Martha Shank of Brookville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Kile; sister Kitty (Kile) Gartenman; niece, Jessie Kile and father-in-law, Paul Shank.
Mandy touched the lives of others with a loving heart and a helping hand. Her memory will be held tenderly in the hearts of her friends and family forever.
Visitation services were held from 4 - 6 p.m. on Monday, May 12 at the Phillips and Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville. Funeral services followed at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Christopher Millay officiating.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Avenue, 9th floor, New York, NY, 10018.
