Ovalene W. Aaron, 92



Ovalene W. Aaron, 92, of North Vernon passed away Saturday, July 18 at Jennings HealthCare Center at North Vernon.

She was born on October 9, 1916 in Russell County, Kentucky to John & Ellen (Gaskin) Wooten. She was born and raised in Russell County, Kentucky and moved to Indiana in 1947. She was a former resident of Westport and had been a North Vernon resident since 1990. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Western Kentucky State University and her Masters in Guidance Counseling from Butler University. She was an educator, having taught at Russell Springs High School and Owensboro High School in Kentucky and Sandcreek High School at Westport, and she was a Guidance Counselor at Horace Mann High School and Counselor and Department Head at Wirt High School in Gary Indiana.

She married Earl Aaron in 1935. He preceded her in death on March 10, 1995.

She is survived by her son John Earl Aaron of North Vernon, her granddaughter Tamela Gail Aaron of Munford, Alabama as well as 3 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl Aaron and her brother Avilee Wooten.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 23 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Aerie Cemetery at Letts.

Visitation will take place Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
