Ruth C. (Koetter) Wolter, 85, Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013.
Born Dec. 20, 1927 in Hamburg, she was the daughter of Edward and Louise (Meyer) Haskamp.
Ruth ran a dairy farm in Decatur County most of her life until she retired in the mid 1990s. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the St. Lawrence Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Know Your Neighbor Club.
Ruth was married to Arthur J. Koetter on Aug. 17, 1949 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1979. She then married Charles B. Wolter on June 18, 1994 and he survives.
She is also survived by one son, James E. (Ruthie) Koetter; two daughters, Linda (Terry) Burton, Philomena (Tom) Banks; one brother, Virgil (Bertha) Haskamp; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 step-children, Cynthia (Daniel) Wickizer, Steven Wolter, Michael J. Wolter, Sandra (Jeff) Richardson, Judith Wolter, Timothy Wolter; 9 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; two brothers, Bernard C. “Benny” Haskamp and Louis Haskamp and one sister, Luella Nobbe.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with a rosary being prayed at 3:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Interment will be held in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
