---- — Marvin A. Thielking, 84, of Batesville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 at St. Andrews Health Campus, Batesville.
Born April 24, 1929 in Batesville, he was the son of Louis and Marie (Siebert) Thielking.
He retired from Howard, Barth & Associates in Greensburg as a Quality Control Manager.
On May 9, 1953 he married Dorothy L. Wishmeyer at St. Louis Church. Marvin was a life-long member of St. John United Church of Christ where he was involved in many of its activities and served as custodian for 20 years.
Marvin was a 1947 graduate of Batesville High School, attended Ball State University and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a 60-year member of American Legion Post 271 in Batesville and on the BCSC School Board.
Marvin is survived by his wife Dorothy L. Thielking, his son Ted (Kathy) Thielking of Columbus, Ohio and his daughter Beth Thielking of Indianapolis.
He will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Bette Thielking and Patricia Thielking and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Allen, Russel and Edward Thielking.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15 at St. John United Church of Christ, Rev. David Johnston officiating.
Burial with military honors will immediately follow services at St. John Church Cemetery.
