---- — Shelley Anne Tichenor, 61, Westport, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
She was born Aug. 3, 1952 in Columbus, the daughter of John Samuel and Helen Pauline (Burton) Perkins. She was raised in Newbern and has been a Westport resident since 1970. She was a 1970 graduate of Columbus North High School.
She was a member of Christ Way Christian Church in North Vernon and had attended Westport Christian Church. Shelley enjoyed playing Scrabble, reading and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
She married Milo Tichenor in Rodney Aug. 14, 1970 and he survives. Other survivors include her mother, Pauline Perkins of Newbern; daughters, Anne M. (Stewart) Daily of Memphis, Ind., Amy M. (Matt) Murphy of Greensburg, April D. (Andrew) Linne of Rushville and Kristy (Chris) R. Holcomb of Westport; sister, Shelia (Mike) Moore of North Vernon; brothers, Jay Perkins of Hartsville, Mark (Yolanda) Perkins of Memphis, Tenn. and John (Brenda) Perkins of Newbern; six grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Pastor Johnny Perkins officiating. Burial will follow at Rodney Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
