---- — Leona Davis Brewer, 99, of Columbus, formerly of Zellwood, Fla. died Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
She resided in Westport until 1984. She was a homemaker, was of the Catholic Faith and had attended the Immaculate Conception School in Millhousen.
The funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Millhousen, Father Bill Turner officiating.
Calling will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with a public prayer service at 3:30 p.m.
Burial will be at Immaculate Conception Cemetery at Millhousen.
Memorials may be made to the Immaculate Conception Cemetery Fund or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Mrs. Brewer was born in Decatur County Oct. 30, 1914, the daughter of Bernard and Josephine (Funke) Ortman. She married F. Richard Davis of Westport June 5, 1940. He died Dec.18, 1963. She married Earl A. Brewer of Greensburg June 23, 1984. He died Sept. 1, 2005.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (Nathan) Garrett of Columbus; one stepson David (Jill) Brewer of Florida; one stepdaughter, Janett Lamontagne (Gary Thompson) of Florida; a sister, Ruth Beesley of Columbus; two granddaughters, Lisa (Doug) Caseltine of Columbus and Teresa (Dennis) Gholson of Columbus; three great-granddaughters, Ashley (Braden) Grider of Columbus; Amber Monday of Indianapolis and Brooke O’Mara of Columbus; two step-grandchildren, Patrick Witkemper and Heather Munsey and three great-step- grandchildren of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Elaine Herron of North Vernon Dec. 10, 2013; three brothers, Carl Ortman, Frank Ortman and Ralph Ortman; two sisters, Louise Hill and Bertha Small.
