---- — Christine Emma Saylor Lossiah, 64, of Madison, Indiana, passed away at 6:18 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana inpatient facility. She was born on Aug. 15, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Albert L. and Helen Marie (Head) Benbow.
She was raised in Michigan City, Ind., was a former resident of Zenas, Ind., and of Cherokee and Sylva, N.C. She attended Restoration Fellowship Church at North Vernon and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She married Charles Verlin Lossiah in Bryson City, N.C. on March 4, 2005, and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2010.
Survivors include her mother, Helen M. Benbow of North Vernon; daughter, Christina Martin of Cherokee, N.C.; sons, David Saylor of Madison, Michael Saylor of El Paso, Texas, Daniel Saylor of Sylva, N.C., Albert Saylor of Cherokee, N.C., Chittle Saylor of Madison, Neil Saylor of Cherokee, N.C. and Clint Lossiah of Madison; sisters, Viola Lane of Westport, Bonnie Hardebeck of Greensburg, Evelyn Beaty of Williford, Ark. and Diane Nelson of Michigan City; brother, Albert G. Benbow of Trail Creek, Ind.; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Albert L. Benbow; son, Glenn Waire and sister, Helen Wanda Benbow.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013, at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home with Rev. David A. Scaggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Rockcreek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 yo 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the funeral home.
