Dorothy “Dotty” L. Smith, 88, passed away Jan. 29, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital of Indianapolis.
She was born Jan. 9, 1926 in Clinton Township to Ethbert and Kitty (Nation) Waybright. She was a 1944 graduate of Sandusky High School.
She married C. Arthur “Art” Smith Oct. 14, 1949. Dotty was a member of Greensburg United Methodist Church, where she was a past choir director. She was a legal secretary at Humbert and Fitch Law Firm for more than 30 years.
She is survived by her son, Robert A.(Lynne) Smith of Lexington, Ky., and daughter, Sarah L. (John) French of Greensburg. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Shannon Barnes and Christy Schlemmer, and two grandsons, Aaron and Isaac French, all of Greensburg, as well as, 10 great-grandchildren, one sister, Betty Harrison of Indianapolis, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, John Waybright and Robert Waybright, sisters, Margaret Cook and Ruth Boak.
There will be no public visitation. A private family service will take place at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Rev. Gregory Pimlott officiating.
Burial will be at South Park Cemetery.
