Marian L. Hunter, 88, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 at Aspen Place Health Campus.
Marian was born April 23, 1925 in Millhousen, the daughter of Louis and Martha Luken. Marian was a 1943 graduate of Napoleon High School. She married Oliver M. Hunter July 17, 1957 in Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death Oct. 9, 2012.
She worked as a bookkeeper for several years at Johnson Wholesale and Phillips Oil Company. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and also enjoyed playing Bridge, going to Elks conventions, traveling, volunteering her time at Decatur County Memorial Hospital and delivering for Meals on Wheels for 25 years.
Survivors include her son, Tim Hunter of Indianapolis; two sisters, Dorothy Overpeck of Elkhart and Rita Burkert of Greensburg; one brother, Ken Luken of Greensburg; her sister-in-law Patt Luken, of Greensburg and four grandchildren: Derek (Jessica), Tyler, Meghan, and Kristin Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one son, Steven Hunter, and two brothers, Bert and Carl Luken.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with a Rosary Service beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Marian’s funeral mass will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
