---- — Pauline F. Swinford, 87, a life-long Rush County resident, passed away Jan. 7, 2014 at her home near Richland.

She was born June 17, 1926 in Rush County to Willard W. & Lelia Fay (Ashcraft) Bush.

She was a 1945 graduate of New Salem School.

She married Charles Robert Swinford on Sept. 22, 1947 and he preceded her in death June 8, 1978.

Pauline worked in Lawrenceburg at Seagram’s, helped at Diewert’s Orchard, was secretary at Farm Bureau Co-Op many years and was a long time Stanley product salesperson. She was a member of the New Salem United Methodist church. She was an avid card player, her favorite was Pinochle. Pauline also loved to mail cards to people for any occasion!

She is survived by her daugher, Mary & husband Rowland “Ronnie” Barksdale of Rush County, a son, Steven Swinford of Seattle, Wash., five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Virgil Leland Bush.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville, with Pastor David Stephens presiding.

Friends are welcome to visit from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday.

Burial will be in Fisher/Richland Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Salem United Methodist Church or the Rush County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
