Greensburg — Dorothy Jean (Holtzclaw) Dreyer, 89, Greensburg, passed away at Decatur County Memorial Hospital Jan. 26, 2013.

She was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Decatur County, the daughter of Bert and Lettie Brown Holtzclaw. Jean was a 1942 graduate of Sand Creek High School. She worked at Farm Bureau before marrying Carson Henry Dreyer, March 24, 1951.

Jean enjoyed being a housewife, knitting, crocheting, and traveling. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and the Gideons since 1982. The Dreyer’s furnished Bibles for Camp Maumee.

Survivors include a son: Gerald (Robin) Dreyer; grandchildren: Katie (Harold) Molnar, William (Samantha) Dreyer, Roy H. Dreyer; Great grandchildren: James, Carson, Amber, Xavier, Cheyanne, Wyatt, and Ranie; sister: Ila Mae Slinker; and brother: David Holtzclaw. She was preceded in death by: Her parents; husband: Carson Dreyer; and siblings: Loyd, Luella, Donna, Shirley, and Louis.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg, Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at 10 a.m., with Rev. Alfred Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion United Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Gideon’s.
