Robert “Bob” F. Elliott, 75, of Adams, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility at Columbus.
He was born March 17, 1938 in Greensburg, the son of Albert and Eva Belle (Wise) Elliott. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and was retired from Mollering Construction.
Bob was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, the Eagles Lodge # 927 and the American Legion Post # 129 where he had served as a past Commander.
He was a veteran having served with the US Navy aboard the USS Kearsarge. He enjoyed fishing.
He married Karen Baugh in Greensburg June 2, 1974 and she survives along with his daughters, Virginia Elliott and Cris Norman both of Lincoln City, Ore. and Stacey Harmon of North Vernon; his sons, Bobby Elliott of Portland, Ore. and Bryan Elliott at home; his grandchildren, Danny, Billy and Brittany Weitzel of Oregon, Jade and Jessica Norman of Oregon, Trace and Blake Harmon of North Vernon; his great- grandchildren, Emily, David, Aalyiah, Chole, Kaden, Patience, Zachary and Isaiah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Wilma Collins and Carol Sue Hobson; his brother, Albert Elliott, Jr.; his stepsisters, Rosiland Hart and Janet Elliott; his stepbrothers, George Hart, Gene and Jerry Elliott.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 8, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, Pastor Keith Dover officiating.
Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Adams with military graveside services.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at the funeral home.
