Colleen Cherry, 51, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014. She was born Dec. 29, 1962, in Anaheim, Calif., the daughter of Hugh and Rosanne Miller.
Colleen graduated from South Decatur High School in 1981. She was a quality control specialist for Nipro (formerly Wheaton) for more than 20 years. Colleen loved her family, shopping, and traveling. She was a silent helper supporting many different causes by volunteering and donating. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church of Columbus. Oct. 29, 1992, she married David Lee Cherry and he survives.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by: children, Jenny (Ryan) Burkhart, Michael Colson, Jessica Cherry, Jennifer Colson, and Stephanie Cherry; grandchildren, Jada, Layne, and Ashton Lee, Nolan and Maggie Burkhart, Mariah Cherry, and RoseLyn Volk; sister, Kathy (Greg) Pataky; father-in-law, William Cherry; brothers-in-law, Tom Cherry and Richard (Donna) Cherry. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Luella Cherry.
A rosary service will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, with a visitation following until 6 p.m. at Gilliland Howe Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, March 10, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Columbus, with calling from 9 a.m. until Mass. Father Doug Marcotte will be officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass at the Church.
