---- — L. Marguerite (Youman) Apsley Taylor, 93, of Sardinia passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, at her residence.
She was born June 4, 1920 in Bartholomew County to George Ezra and Lila Edith (Muir) Youman. She had been a Sardinia resident most of her life.
She was employed at the Uniform Center at Columbus for 16 years. She had been a member of Sardinia Baptist Church and Missionary Circle since 1930.
She was a Sunday school teacher and a 50-year choir member. She was an avid reader, loved being a mother, and enjoyed visiting family and friends.
She married George William “Bill” Apsley in Vernon May 9, 1937, and he preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1972.
She also married Richard H. “Dick” Taylor in Sardinia July 31, 1971 and he preceded her in death Sept. 6, 2007.
She is survived by a daughter, Ardena (Paul) Stuart of Westport; sons Richard (Rita) Apsley, Dennis (Melly) Apsley, Jack (Phyllis) Apsley all of North Vernon, Delton Apsley of Westport; stepsons; Greg (Pam) Taylor of Westport and Tony (Sandy) Taylor of North Vernon; eight grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and a stepson, Kenneth Taylor.
Funeral services begin at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, Rev. Tom Rust officiating.
Burial follows at Westport Cemetery.
Visitation will from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Sardinia Baptist Church or Our Hospice of Decatur County c/o the funeral home.
