Donald A. Reddick, 68, passed away April 2, 2014. He was born June 29, 1945, the son of Jean and Bernadine (McDaniel) Reddick.
Don graduated from Jackson High School in Decatur County and went on to work as an over-the-road truck driver for Carrier Trucking Services. He worked there for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2005.
He married Alice Hutton on Feb. 4, 1965, and she survives. Don was a member of Waldron United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Blue River Antique Tractor Club, Greensburg Power of the Past, Pioneer Engineer’s Club of Indiana and Trucker Buddy for St. Peter’s & Paul Catholic School in Haubstadt.
Don loved his John Deere tractors, which he restored, and loved spending time with family and grandchildren and being involved in their activities and functions. The family would like to thank the staff at Heritage House for their care and kindness during Don’s extended stay there.
He is survived by his wife, Alice; daughters, Barbara Reddick, Andrea Harvey and April (Chris) Holliday, all of Shelbyville; sister Joann (Don) Paden, of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren, Justin Holliday, Danielle McKnight, Andrew Harvey, Andrienne Harvey, Casey Schonfeld, Nigel Schonfeld, Jesse Holliday and Brett Holliday; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Glenn E. George & Sons Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7 at Waldron United Methodist Church, with Pastor Marcy Patrick officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Riley Children’s Hospital in the name of “Nigel Strong” or to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
