---- — Robert E. Glasson Jr., 64, of Irvine, Ky., Formerly of North Vernon, passed away at 4:34 p.m., Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at Marcum & Wallace Hospital, Irvine.
Born January 7, 1950, in Columbus, Robert was the son of Robert E. and JoAnn Southern Glasson.
Early in his career, Robert worked at Cummins Inc. for ten years. He then became an owner/operator of his own trucking business, which he did for more than thirty years. He was a member of Westport Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to auctions, working on old trucks, visiting with friends, and his little dog, Heidi.
He is survived by his mother: JoAnn Glasson of North Vernon; sons, Robert E. Glasson III and Tracy J. (Connie) Glasson of Irvine, Ky.; daughter: April Gunnels; brothers: Kevin Glasson of Freedom, Michael (Heather) Glasson of Clarksville, Tenn., Bruce (Crystal) Glasson of North Vernon; sisters: Linda (Roy) Beck of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Janice (Russ) Parks of Greensburg; grandchildren: Katie Skelton, Tyler, Robert and Dakota Glasson, Mia Gunnels, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, and two brothers: Garold A. and Timothy B. Glasson.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., April 7, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Bob Weeks will officiate. Interment will be at Reddington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., April 6, at the funeral home.
