Lois Irene Lawson-Hersley Stewart, 62, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014. She was born April 14, 1951, in Greensburg, the daughter of Sidney S. and Bertha Louise (Brooks) Lawson.
She was a Greensburg resident for most of her life. She started working at Sloan Nursing Home at the age of 16 and worked there for five years. She also worked at Track Side Café for 25 years.
She was a member of Bethel Apostolic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Legion and Eagles, garage sales, flea markets, flower gardening and playing cards at home. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She liked to play pranks and had a great sense of humor.
She is survived by her first husband, David Hersley Sr., of Greensburg; daughter, Michelle (William) Imlay, of Seymour; son David Hersley Jr., of Greensburg; stepsons, Travis Stewart and Ronald Stewart Jr., both of Marion; sisters, Barbara Hobbs of Greensburg, Trudy (Chris) Huber, of McKey, Ky.; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Ronald D. Stewart Sr.; infant sister, Patricia Ann Lawson; and brother, James Lawson.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 11, at Bethel Apostolic Church. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, at the church, with Rev. Todd Smith and Rev. Kenny Lee officiating. Following Lois’ wishes, after the services she will be cremated and burial will follow at a later date.
