---- — Margaret E. Giesting-Jones, 80, of Batesville, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014.
She was born Sept. 1, 1933, the daughter of Robert E. and Ethel (Jackson) Martin.
She married John Giesting on Oct. 25, 1958, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 22, 1969. On May 4, 1985, Margaret married William Jones and he too passed away on June 3, 2004.
Margaret was a homemaker and also worked at Nolte’s pharmacy for many years. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Pocahontas, the Batesville VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles. Margaret loved to bowl and even won a trophy in her favorite pastime. She also enjoyed playing bingo with others.
She is survived by one son, James Giesting; three daughters, Patricia Wagner, Barbara Laughlin, and Cheryl Groce; step-son, William Jones; two step-daughters, Gerri Schwegman and Nancy Kruthaupt; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Martin and sisters, Dorothy Werner and Joanie Budd.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by her son Gerald Giesting, and siblings Robert Martin and Rose Marie Martin.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Oldenburg. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Church Cemetery.
