Judy Ann Witkemper, 59, of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Hospice Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Judy was born on Jan. 14, 1954 in Batesville, the daughter of Donald and Jo Ann (Brownell) Meyer.
Judy was a Jac-Cen-Del High School graduate, then furthered her education at Purdue University, earning a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
On Jan. 12, 1985, she married Frank Witkemper in Columbus.
Judy was a retired engineer, but throughout her career had worked at KYB Manufacturing, Walker Process Equipment, Columbus City Utilities, and Praxair Surface Technologies. Judy was a very active member in various positions at her church, the Smyrna Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the American Water Works Association and the International Right of Way Association. Judy was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include husband Frank daughters – Natalie (Darrin) O’Connor of Columbus; Nicole (Chris) Pierce of Franklin, and Summer (Mark) Carmichael of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sons – Jason Barnhorst of Greensburg and Patrick Witkemper of Florida; sister – Susie Whitworth of Franklin; brothers Ralph Meyer and Kim Meyer of Greensburg; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home.
Funeral service begins at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 3 at Smyrna Lutheran Church with visitation one hour before the service.
