Greensburg — Dorothy E. Smith, 91, passed away at The Hospice House in The Villages, Fla., on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.
She was born in Greensburg, Oct. 19, 1922, to Fred and Frances (Jansen) Klene.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was retired from Crown Zellerbach, where she worked for 15 years.
Dorothy was married to Hurshell Smith, Jan. 29, 1943, and he preceded her in death Dec. 20, 2000.
Dorothy is survived by one son: Alton Smith, Milroy; one daughter: Rith Smith, Lady Lake, Fla.; two grandchildren: Kevin Ray Smith and Tina Smith; and two great-grandchildren: Kevin Ray Smith, Jr., and Brittany Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son: Hurshell Smith; seven brothers: George, Bill, Fred, Ralph, Orville, Stanley and John Klene; and one sister: Dolores Dwenger.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Jan. 24, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, Greensburg. A rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m., also on Jan. 24.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Jan. 25, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.
